Getting Started

To begin your journey towards participating in medieval combat you first must come to a training session! See the Ballarat or Bendigo pages to see more details on when training is held.

Once you are ready to come to a training session, here are some recommended things to bring with you:

– Water bottle
– Suitable clothing (active wear you can wrestle in)
– Deodorant
– Towel
– Mouth guard
– Groin protection (cup)

After you complete to a few sessions you can look into options of purchasing your own “soft kit” if you so desire – but the club will provide soft kit armour and soft weapons for training purposes.
However it is NOT recommended to buy anything without first speaking to a coach about your options – especially since soft kit extras are by no means a requirement for training.

Here is a company that supplies soft kit options for those who are interested ~

What about real armour and weapons?

Although it may be tempting please do not purchase any armour or weapons without first, participating in regular training sessions, trying armour on with club supervision, and discussing every possible option with a club coach and other experienced members.

Buying armour is a major financial decision and you need to understand what you are doing before you do anything drastic.

With that in mind we understand that people are curious and window shopping your future options is most certainly acceptable, so here are some suggested sites that many of our club members make purchases from, for you to look at.
